Number 1 DBV English Sire - TOBY
Once again Toby has been sucessful in retaining the number one spot for Deer Breeding Values for English Sires.
The latest results were published on 1st April 2009.
With a W12BV of +11.9 Toby is +4 points ahead of his rivals, making him the first choice English Sire for growth. |

Very Successful Elite Stag Sale, Saturday 10th January 2009
Although it was a wet day over 200 people came out to view the fine lineup of stags on offer.
A new selling format was introduced this year with the lots displayed on a large screen in the marquee, this was very well received and proved to be very animal friendly.
The buyers were also able to view the live animals in the sale centre at any stag during the auction. |

ATLAS Top Three Growth Rate Stag - DBV +25.1Atlas is proving a consistent sire claiming another top 3 spot in the latest DEERSelect cross herd Breeding Values for the 12 month yearling weight D.B.V (W12BV).
Atlas is a son of Maximillian out of an important Nelson hind. Nelson was a Shultze-Wrede (German) x Jonathon (Warnham).
Very interesting to note that this fine stag is not a pure Eastern bloodline and will therefore be an important sire for the industry.
Another very pleasing characteristic of Atlas is that he has a great placid temperament which he is passing through into his progeny. |

An update on the stunning MEGA PEEL
This amazing 2 year old stag has grown a wonderful head this season, with long tynes, it is very wide with excellent long main beam. His 2 year Hard Antler weight was 6.36kg. We are currently awaiting his SCI score.
As a spiker Mega Peel was awarded Biggest Head All Ages at the 2008 National Hard Antler and Velvet Competition. His SCI was 439 1/8 (400 1/8 without spread and 2nd circumference).
He grew an impresive 41 points with good length to many of his tynes.
This outstanding Spiker born 2006 is a son of Chancellor Peel out a Branson (Woburn) x Jaegermeister (German) hind at the Peel Forest Estate stud. We cut this increadible young stag and his antler weighed an extaordinary 7.8kg.
Another special attribute is that he is extremely quiet. A fine example of the power of Chancellor Peel's genetics. |
